Consanguinity or Compulsion?

WHY DO PEOPLE NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR PARENTS IN THEIR OLD AGE KNOWING THAT THEY NEED THEIR HELP, LOVE AND SUPPORT? The relationship between the parents and their children has many aspects to it; the responsibilities, family, culture, traditions, respect, and values. The family is a very important for us; they are the best support in our life and they will always be there for you. In our culture we have huge families all living together. That’s what our traditions are, living in big joint families. But of course this generation people have different thoughts about living in joint families due to many reasons; example, money, responsibilities, liabilities, and many more.

The blue background of the painting denotes the responsibility and trust. Blue also is the colour of peace and can indicate loyalty and integrity.
The pink colour that appears on the parents as well as the child suggests the love, nurturing and compassion for raising the child and having a child.

The grey tree is a representation of the parents being sad, hurt and abandoned. The background which is black and white and grey represents the children who have no sensitivity. They pretend to be innocent and think that being independent, strong and powerful is all that they need. The self-greed keeps increasing ignoring the reality.
The yellow colour which acts as a rising sun represents that there is yet hope. The parents no matter what yet have that hope that one day their child will come to meet them, to take them home.

I used black showing that the mystery, the independence that the child needs; he can yet have it while taking care of his parents. The yellow, no matter how much you try the self-worthiness sticks out, therefore, I used this colour. Green, to show that the balance, the harmony can be maintained leading to growth. Blue, because the bond depends upon the trust and the peace that you get from it. And pink for the love and nurturing of both the parents as well as the children.
I used the hands to show that the child is lending a hand to its parents; a symbol for helping.
Weaving: Wool
I made my own customised weaving board.
I used this weaving to put behind the paintings because I feel it can represent the motherhood; the love and care. (Sensitivity) As the feel of wool and weaving in all makes the space more sensitive, keeping a mother in mind.
